Notes to Parents
(things to remember and keep in mind)


- Lessons should be no more then 15-20 minutes each

Remember the 3 period lesson rule.
Period 1) Naming: “this is a…”
Period 2) Recognition: “which one is the…?”
Period 3) Pronunciation of the word: “what is this?”

Be consistent and persistent with chores, discipline, and encouragement

- Cuddle and read, Act and read, Sing and read,
Read, Read, Read! (Living books) Note: give Isaac something for his hands to do well listening

Take note of things mastered and observe instead of test (use human figure drawings too)

Finals consist of presentations from kids; through books, objects, crafts, pictures, performances, acting, role-playing, singing, memorization, examples or spoken.

Keep well done work that shows mastery and/ or make lap books to remember a unit well done or just for fun J

Try to stay on basic schedule for sleep and healthy meals always.

Be an example: Learn to display in ourselves the desires we have for our children’s goals.

Balance still activities with active ones

Teach sounds and recognise words for the love of reading before introducing the rules of those sounds. Use captivating, living books.

Meditate on and pray goals into answered payer through faith, study, and belief. Trust God and always take time to listen and note changes in what God’s showing us

Treat kids as though those goals are already established and expected of them once taught diligently and consistently

Involve kids and goals in everything we do

Focus to be in an intimate and personal relationship with our kids and keep there hearts. (Keep in mind there birth orders and love languages)

Seek Gods desires for them (and us) daily. Every day is a waist without seeking Him first.

Cover them in Gods word and teach it diligently and in all situations

Post up scriptures for you family and home until you see them come to pass.

Make sure kids gain a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ

Display your faith and relationship with God openly, and teach kids to pray by example and instruction from Gods word.

Make sure you and they can connect everything taught back to God!

Encourage kids with scriptures relating to their situation.

Never rely on your own love, patience, and wisdom but constantly ask for (and take the time to receive) Gods love, strength, encouragement, patients and understanding

Always seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in everything and watch our own words and actions. Notice what things we do, that are reflected back at us through our children, and search our hearts.

Actions speak louder then words

Get down to there levels and involved in there things, and show them they are respected and listened to.

Don’t assume kids should know something or wonder why they do something or act a certain way, but take the time to make sure they know and walk them through the steps of even the obvious and have them practice till well learned. (how to talk, walk, get parents attention, etc…) and don’t only teach in the situation but have them practice outside the situation and outside of the moment J
